paramguru Sharath Jois
Sharath Jois was the lineage holder (Paramguru) of the ashtanga yoga tradition. He was born in 1971 in Mysuru India into a family dedicated to the practice, preservation and teaching of Ashtanga yoga as his grandfather Shri K. Pattabhi Jois had learned from his teacher, T. Krishnamacharya.
Sharathji was known for his deep sense of humility, discipline, and a commitment to preserving the integrity of the practice. He strongly emphasised the importance of daily practice and the deeper philosophical and spiritual dimensions of yoga.
